Beyond Grey Challenge #7 and DT Call

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Hi there! Hope you had a good weekend. It is time to for another challenge at Beyond Grey. This one will be my last one as a DT too. :( My term with BGC is over and with all the PPS related work , I just had to say good bye. It breaks my heart as it was my first ever stint as DT. But I guess it's time to move on and concentrate on one thing so that I can do it well. I would like to thank Pooja for believing in me and giving me the chance.

Ok, enough of mushy mushy news and let's get to the challenge, ya? So this time, it's all about colours and handmade flowers. You got to create something (anything), with three or more colours and handmade flowers. Since this would be my last challenge with DT, I wanted to make a scrapbook page. I've gone back to my roots of 'clean and simple' to create this page called T&A or rather Talha and Aisha. I hope you guys like it. ;)

Talha is FOUR

Thursday, April 12, 2012

We were in Amsterdam on Talha's fourth birthday. I had carried candles with me. As if birthday candles are not available anywhere else. ;) But you know how a mom's mind works. I wanted to make sure that he had a good time on his birthday.

So we went to a nearby 'cafe' ('coffee shop' means something else in Amsterdam :D) and bought him a chocolate cupcake. Since it was a Saturday the cafe was pretty crowded and there were other babies too! They were all kind enough to sing 'Happy Birthday' for Talha.

It's so difficult to get a decent photo of Talha! He hardly sits still these days..

After having cake and hot cocoa we went to Keukenhof - one of THE most beautiful places on earth...

Thank you for stopping by!

See you soon!

Pretty Paper Studio's Launch Party Blog Hop

Friday, April 6, 2012

Hello!!! Welcome to PPS's launch party blog hop. You must be here from my good friend Irene's blog ya? Isn't her mini album just mind blowing? Sometimes I think of asking her to lend her creative side of her brain for few days. haha!

If you are new to Pretty Paper Studio, you may be wondering what it is. PPS is an online monthly scrapbooking and cardmaking kit club. Which means that PPS will put together a unique scrapbooking and cardmaking kit every month with project kits every three to four months. And guess what? These kits are chalk full of goodies from various manufactures at very affordable prices. PPS's shop will also have other supplies like adhesives, inks, albums, punches etc. So here are PPS's April Kits.

Do you like what you see? If you do, do make sure you grab PPS's introductory offer: all kits can be purchased at a discounted subscription price of AED 205 until April 15th.

And here are some of my projects using PPS's Scrapbooking Kit. You can view my detailed post here (after blog hopping please ;).

Next up on our blog hop is the STUDIO itself.

Do make sure you leave comments on all the blogs on this hop as PPS is giving away TWO Spring Break Project kits and winners will be announced on PPS's blog on April 18, 2012.

Here are the links to all blogs on our hop. Do visit all of them.

Oh and before we forget, winner of our blog hop will be announced here on April 18th, 2012.

Happy hopping!!

It's here! finally!

Thursday, April 5, 2012

I've been working hard for the past few months on Pretty Paper Studio and finally the day has come to launch it. When my website went live this morning, I was crying.. I don't know why.. I just couldn't believe that I had finally did it.. I had to pass through so many hurdles.. deal with so much rudeness and discouragement from people.. But I stuck with it and it's finally ready to be shared with you.

I know this is just a start. I still have a lot to go through. I'am ready for it. I think. :D Do remember me in your prayers.

Here are our first kits: -

April 2012 Scrapbooking kit called 'Let's be friends?'

April 2012 Cardmaking kit called 'Let's be friends?'

April 2012 Project kit called 'Spring Break'

All these kits are priced at AED 205 as an introductory offer. You can view the full list of contents and more photos on our website here

I worked with Scrapbooking Kit this month and here are the layouts I made.

I absolutely loved this paper from MME. I've actually machine stitched a border here. It was my first try at machine stitching on layouts. I will do it again for sure! And since the paper is very mellow, I used JBS paint dabbers and acrylic paints (from my stash) to add some colour. I also used Tattered Angels Lavender Fields and Blue Skies Glimmer Mists. Lately I love playing with colours and getting messy. It's so destressing I tell you.

Btw, the above is an old photo of mine. I don't look like that anymore! haha!

I absolutely love this photo and layout. I have literally used all the stamps in the MME stamp set in our scrapbooking kit. I also used the Crafter's workshop Triangle Mosaic Stencil for the background. All inks are from JBS. JBS has such lovely warm colours. And it doesn't bleed on cardstock - something verrrrry important for me!

The tag in the above layout isn't from our kit ya. I bought this pack of Craft Tags and woah, was I impressed? It so sturdy that it can take any amount of misting, stamping, distressing. I also used the Hero Arts Cling Stamp on the tag. And ofcourse, my trustworthy bubble wrap and punchinella. *wink*

I also made a simple tag album and used the MME transparency sheet in the kit to make another mini.

Here also I've used a lot of the stamps in the stamp set. Ink is Stazon Jet Black. Don't you love how that ink staaaayz on everything?! You can stamp with it on transparencies, photos, card stock, glass.. Many possibilities with that ink.

Lastly, I made a simple accordion album about my son Talha who turned four last month. I love this photo of his. hehe.. Here I've combined papers of Scrapbooking Kit and alpha of Project kit. I think I will get a project kit for myself too. lolz! I soooo love the lovely colours of the kit - both boyish and girlish. It will work perfectly well to document our spring break.

I also love the gorgeous stamp set in our card kit. I'am thinking of getting the kit just for the sake of the stamp set. I love those butterflies in it! ^_^

I hope you liked my projects. You can visit our blog to view projects of our Guest Designers Sasha Farina and Ujjwal Gupta; and Design Team members - mighty talented ladies I tell you.

You are Invited!!
